Short Story ~ The Lost Pet

As I Was Wearing The School Shoes Preparing For School, I Suddenly Felt Something Strange In My Shoe. The Strange Feeling Was Soft, Slippery, Slimy And Damp. I Took The Shoes Off And Flung It Onto The Ground. What A Laugh. It Turned Out To Be My Little Brother's Pet Frog That Somehow Went Missing Since Yesterday.

It Was Raining Heavily Yesterday, What With All The Thunder And Lightning Competing With One Another. The Loud Noise Frightened My Pet Cat Like As If It Was A Bomb. The Cat Jumped Onto The Table And Knocked Over The Cage Of The Frog. The Cover Of The Cage Opened Up When The Cage Fell To The Floor.

At That Exact Same Moment, The Electric Of The House Tripped. The Whole House Was Pitch-Black And It Made Finding The Frog Harder Than Before. I Cursed Under My Breath. Little Brother Also Noticed The Absence Of The Frog. He Started Whining And Begging The Whole Family To Find It.

Everyone Including Me Searched The Whole House But Failed. We Have No Clue About The Whereabouts Of The Frog. Little Brother's Tears Spilled To His Cheeks. Dad Tried To Comfort Him And Promised Him That The Search For The Frog Will Continue Tomorrow As It Was Late At That Time. Mom Also Promised Little Brother That If The Frog Was Unable To Be Found, She Will Get Him Another Frog.

Little Brother Murmured That There Wasn't Any Other Better Frog Out There. I Couldn't Help But Roll My Eyes. He Was Being Kinda Pathetic There, Crying Over One Lost Frog. Still, I Can't Blame Him As The Frog Meant A Lot To Him.

Little Brother Was A Strange And Shy Kid. He Never Laughed Or Smiled Until The Day He Found That Frog In The Park. His New Pet Only Made The Other Kids On The Street Think Him A Total Nutcase And An Utter Weirdo. Little Brother Surprised Us When He Ignored The Other Kids That He Once So Desperately Wanted To Befriend With. He Changed A Lot Since Getting The Frog.

Mom, Dad And I Wondered A Lot About What Made Him So Interested In That Frog. Why Of All Stuff Is It That Creature That Amazed Him So Much? What's So Great About A Frog? It's Slimy And Stinks Up The Whole Room. Even So, We Continued To Let The Frog Stay.

Little Brother Did Nothing But Only Played With The Frog Whenever He Was Free. His Laughter Would Surround The Entire House, Lifting Our Low Spirits. Because Of His Cheerfulness, He Finally Got To Make Friends In School. He Soon Became Really Popular With Everyone. He Was Known As The Clown.

Now That I've Accidentally Found His Frog, I Handed It Straight To Little Brother Who Was Moping Away. He Had This Big Smile On His Face That It Actually Somehow Part Annoyed And Part Cheered Me Up.

All The Same, I Am Just Glad For Him That The Frog Has Returned To Its Owner.
